Let the Discussion Conclude: We’re All Good

When Danica first feigned interest in NASCAR, the Discussion Began. Of course, it was a spirited discussion about horrendous Hollywood acting performances … but it began nonetheless. As did The Protest.

When she visited Tony Stewart’s backwoods operation, the Discussion Continued. Of course, it was a lively discussion about which song (and dance) was awful enough to wear the crown as The Worst Ever … but it continued nonetheless. As did The Protest.

And now that she’s signed a 3-year deal to remain with AGR, what are we supposed to do? Put down our breakfast bourbons and thank her?!? Express our gratitude?!? Our sense of relief?!? Our restored confidence in the (near) future of IndyCar?!? REALLY?!?!

Yep. That’s exactly what we should be doing.

But because this is the Pagoda, nobody wants to drink your tall, steaming-hot cup of uncomfortable trite. You can do that stuff in the quiet comforts of your home, on your own time — in whatever manner you see fit. Just like prayer. Or making babies.

In the meantime, the Discussion Concludes. The final topic:

**The wisest career-related decisions in history**

They can be fictional (Dorothy Boyd going with Jerry Maguire’s firm) or non-fictional (Steve Ballmer joining up with some college dropout nerd named Bill Gates). They can be personal. Or second-hand. Whatever. So long as it was a good move — a good move that you appreciated in some fashion. Just like Danica’s.

This is your show now. Run it well.

I’ll take the stoner chick leaving the record store with Jim Breuer’s character after he got fired in Half Baked. Well, either that or Scarface’s spectacular quitting of his job at the Heffer Burger in Half Baked. Or, maybe it’s when Thurgood hits up his employer for some hydroponic product in Half Baked.

I think maybe I’ve watched Half Baked too much.

While this goes down as worst episode EVER. Did no one mention the mere fact tahr she has a lot left to proove, note to Danica: AGR sucks find a better team that can put you in a position to win. Not just make money. Man and I thought she wanted to be a racer, not just a pretender like she continues to be. Sad day in sports history.

The day that guy named Julius decided to sell tasty orange flavored beverages which are impossible to recreate in the comfort of my mansion (not really a mansion). Great move for him and me.

Remember when Norman Dale took the head coaching job at Hickory? The entire world reaped the benefits of that move. Except Muncie South.

Wow, this is a shockingly lackluster Discussion…”Focus, people” indeed.

But surely it must be Bill Polian’s decision to pass on Ryan Leaf in the ’98 draft. RIGHT, Arizona??
