An Unbiased, Professional Analysis of Danica Patrick

Posted by Roy Hobbson on February 10th, 2009 under Roy Hobbson  •  4 Comments

Regarding Danica Patrick, I’m a neutral party. I’ve yet to get off the fence, so to speak. Partly because I can’t tell a “talented driver” from a circus-trained ocelot … but mainly because I’m easily distracted by smoking hot vixens with a very discernable naughty streak. It’s a curse, really. But not today. Because today, I’m focused and [...]

I’ve been thinking about The Good Ol’ Days

One thing I’ve learned about the six readers of The Silent Pagoda is that at least four of them only come here for the pictures of Marissa Miller. When My Name is IRL throws up a video entitled “Ernesto Viso training in Barcelona,” certain things are expected of said video. Certain magical things. Me: Hey … are we allowed to post purely basketball-related stories on IndyCar.com that have absolutely NOTHING to do with racing? Griffin: No. Me: What if it involves Clemson visciously slapping the smug off Duke’s face? Would that suit your fancy? Would that change your mind?  Griffin: No. [...]

Quite honestly, I have very little to offer the IndyCar community. Very little. Nobody disputes this. And in terms of constructive, intelligent, non-fictional insights that might help further & grow the sport — I have even less. Which is to say, I have none.     Until now, that is. When my jarring, almost-pathetic unfamiliarity with IndyCar can finally be used as an [...]

Pre-Super Bowl Housecleaning Items

Unless your team is involved, tonight is filled with danger. Grave danger. Namely to your internal organs and respiratory functions and general well being. For tonight, we ride out to our Super Bowl party of choice, wherever that may be. And you will eat catastrophic amounts of atomic wings & blue cheese & bushels of delicious Sweedish meatballs … and you’ll [...]
